MUA Eyeshadow Trios, Review!

Depending where you are in the world,Good Afternoon/evening/Morning!

Its Sunday afternoon here in cold rainy Scotland & I'm very much looking forward to a lovely Roast Chicken Dinner, which I shall be cooking as soon as I've finished this post!

So, as I've mentioned & photographed in recent posts, I bought some MUA products from Superdrug to try out & review. Today, I am going to be reviewing the cute little MUA Eyeshadow Trios, of which I have 3! Yes, 3 trios...

MUA is a budget beauty brand & their products are very cheap, I will be honest by saying that their cheapness actually put me off slightly in the past as I thought it would be cheap crap! But after buying and trying out some of their products, I have to say I am impressed!

The packing of these eyeshadows & pretty much their whole range is pretty basic looking but don't let that put you off as its the product inside that really matters (to me anyway)

I bought 3 of these Eyeshadow Trios, 'Smoke Screen, Chocolate Box & Pink Sorbet. I love the names of these & was surprised they didn't just have numbers instead of names, like the Lipsticks and Single Eyeshadows do.

Smoke Screen

'Smoke Screen' is a trio designed to give you a smoky eye look. It contains 1 white, 1 grey & a black eyeshadow. They are all gorgeous shimmery colours and work very well together. On the pack of the packaging is a little description telling you which colour goes where on your eyelid, which I think is a brilliant idea as not everyone would be sure which goes where.

Chocolate Box

'Chocolate Box'  is a trio of lovely chocolately colours. 1 Orange-y Brown, 1 milk chocolate & a very slightly darker milk Chocolate Colour...although to my eyes they look very similar. As you can see in the swatches I've taken. Once again these colours have been designed so you can wear them all together. With a little description on the back telling you which Colour has to go where.

Pink Sorbet

'Pink Sorbet' is a trio of beautiful pink tones. 1 baby pink, 1 mid pink & a darker pink-y Mink colour. These are all shimmery and are really beautiful. The pics don't do them justice. I struggled to capture the true shimmeryness in photos which is a shame. Once again there is a small description idicating which colour goes where.

I would say all of these colours are really pigmented, which I didn't expect for such cheap eyeshadows. They are all shimmery and look really pretty! Each trio was only £3 which is a great price in my opinion for such a lovely eyeshadows. When applying the eyeshadow I did find that you get a lot of fall out which is a pain! I think if used with a little water it may reduce the fall out, but I've yet to try this. Each eyeshadow Trion comes with their own little double ended eyeshadow brush, I haven't actually tried these as I have my Real Techniques eyeshadow brushes that I like to use, but could be handy if you're out and about & don't fancy taking out your full sizes brushes with you.

For the price, I think these are great, despite the fall out, I do really like them and I would recommend them. They are cheap and cheerful & the colours are really pretty!

Have you tried MUA  eyeshadow before? What did you think?

MUA Lipstick Review

MUA Lipstick Review...

As you may..or may have not seen, I bought a few MUA products from Superdrug to try out & over the next few days I shall be testing them out & giving you my first impressions of them!

Today, I decided to start with the Six MUA Lipsticks! These were only £1 each, I couldnt believe how cheap they were. I am not even too bothered if they aren't that great or the colours don't suit me as they were that cheap it really wouldn't matter!

These Lipsticks don't have clever names, they are just numbered. I bought shades 1,2,4,5,6 & 8. Admittedly, I don't wear Lipstick on a daily basis I tend to wear lipgloss or even just some Lip Balm. I'm definitetly not a huge Lipstick expert, but I shall try my best.

I wasn't expecting these to be absolutely fantastic, but they have managed to exceed my expectations. The packaging does not look or feel as cheap as you would expect a £1 Lipstick to be. The lids seem quite secure and dont seem likely to fall off in your bag covering everything in a pink/red shade! They also have a clever lil pot of extra lipstick with screws off the bottom of the lipstick.

When I first tried them out I was surprised at how smooth the colour goes on and how moisturising it feels on my lips, they also don't seem to have dried my lips out. As for wear, they dont last very long and you do have to reapply throughout the day, but for £1 I really didnt mind having to do that. The colours are lovely on which I am surprised about, I will definitely be wearing Lipstick more often, thanks to these lil bargains!

I would recommend you try these as for £1 each I really can't complain, I will probably go out & buy the other shades and give them a try too!

Top(leftto right,Shdes 1,2 &4. Bottom(left to right) Shades, 5,6 & 8

Please excuse my very tired looking face! This is what sleepless nights with an unwell toddler does to you!

Have you tried any MUA prodcuts? Do you like them?

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation Review...

Good Morning Make Up Lovers,

Today I am going to be writing a review about Rimmels Stay Matte Liquid Foundation Mousse in 100 Ivory! I bought this on Saturday & I have been wearing it every day since! I love Rimmels 'Wake me up Foundation' but thought I would give this one a go for a change!

I have read many reviews on this product, some positive, some not so positive. A lot of people have said that they are not keen on the packaging, I personally quite like the packaging. This foundation comes in a cute little tube instead of a glass bottle with a pump. I think this is great, as with a tube you are able to squeeze the correct amount of product out & when it almost finished you will be able to make sure you've used it all rather than having to take the bottle apart to try get the rest of it out.

After a few hours..
This foundation claims to be a Feather-Light Liquid Mousse which blends flawlessly for natural looking all day shine control with a silky smooth formula which leaves a perfectly matte, baby soft Finish & it wont feel greasy or heavy. I have to be honest here & say that I absolutely agree with this statement. I tend to avoid mousse foundations due to bad experiences in the past, but having said that I am very glad I purchased this one. For me, it does what it says which is rather a bold statement for a £5.99 foundation, but its true!

Applied with Real Techniques Stippling Brush

The coverage is medium to full, its quite a thick formual due to it being a mousse but it feels very light on my skin and not greasy at all. I found it covered my inperfections very well and gave me a flawless complexion. It lived up to its name and stayed matte all day without any need for touch ups. I tend to have an oily T-zone & usually have to have a quick touch up of powder during the day, but I honestly didnt have to do this once while wearing this foundation, it literally stayed matte all day and made my skin feel very soft, which I think is brilliant!

I bought this in my usual colour which is 100 Ivory, I have always used this shade of foundation and have 3 other Rimmel ones of the same colour, BUT with this one I actually found it to be a little too light on my skin. Not overly light but I notice it! Having said that, I will probably repurchase this foundation as I like it so much, but next time I will test the other shades first!

So overall, a big thumbs up from me. As I said before, this product has very mixed reviews from some people, but for me personally it really works well and I am very happy with the results. Thank You Rimmel!!

Have you tried this foundation? Did you love it or hate it?

Little Brush Update....

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all having a good Monday. This is just a very quick update (before I get kids from school) about the two new Real Techniques Brushes I bought on Saturday. I have used them both twice now & I have to say they are just as amazing as all the other Real Techniques Brushes I own.

Firstly, the Stippling Brush gave me a flawless foundation application which looked really good & I was very pleased with. It seemed to help blend my foundation even better than the Real Techniques Foundation Brush that I used before.

Secondly, The Blush Brush is ever so lovely and soft! I adore the feel of this brush on my face its so fluffy! as for its use with applying blusher, I honestly found it to be a little on the large side & it covered a bit too much of my cheeks in  blusher....So I found a better use for it, I have been using it to apply my powder. Due to its large size I find the application of powder to be very quick and simple.

In conclusion, I love both of these Brushes. Not just because they are super soft and come in a pretty colour, but also beacuse they are so versatile!

Do you own any Real Techniques Brushes? Which one is your favourite?

I'd love to hear your thoughts or any little tips youve got!

 Hope you enjoyed reading this!

Treated Myself...

Hello Lovelies,

Following on from my first post about my love for Real Techniques Make up Brushes, I have purchased two more lovely soft brushes. Whilst in my local Superdrug buying some more concealer & powder, I noticed they had an offer on Real Techniques....as well as a 3 for 2 on makeup! I happily pay full price for these brushes, so when I noticed that they were on a 'buy one get 2nd half price' deal, I thought it would be rude not to take up this offer! Both brushes were around £10 each, but with the offer I got them both for around £15, which in my opinion is a great saving on some very good quality brushes!

So, I am now the proud owner of the 'Stippling Brush & the 'Blush Brush!

Stippling Brush: Dual fiber Stippling Brush is the trade secret for creating high definition, airbrushed results with all types of make up.

Blush Brush: Blush Brush is hand-cut to contour and define cheeks for flawlessly blended high definition results.

I am yet to try these brushes out, it is top of my to do list today & once I do I shall update you on my first impressions!

Thanks for reading!

Tools Of The Trade!

Hello Fellow Beauty Bloggers!

This is my very first post & I have decided the best way to start, would be to introduce you to my little babies....no, not my actual Children, I mean my Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman Make-Up Brushes! These brushes have Synthetic Bristles and are really soft on your skin. I personally have noticed a difference in how my make up looks on my face since using these brushes.

These are a fairly new purchase, I have had them for about a month & I honestly don't know how I have survived my make up wearing life without them! Admittedly, I haven't tried a vast majority of other branded Make Up brushes, as I have always used my hands to apply my foundation and concealer..BUT these brushes have converted me completely!

Once I have applied Primer and moisturiser to a freshly washed face, I then use the Real Techniques Foundation Brush to apply my Foundation. I find this brush gives me flawless looking Foundation & in my opinion, it makes the application much easier with no messy hands to wash afterwards, bonus!

Next, its time to conceal my awful dark circles under my eyes! My dark circles are the bane of my life & I am an absolute perfectionist when it comes to applying my concealer! I use my Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush to blend my concealer. I am aware that this isn't the "correct" brush to use, but I personally find it the best one for me!

I then like to set my foundation and Concealer. I use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply my chosen powder.

Once my make up is set, I then like to tackle my stupidly thin & light coloured Eyebrows...long story short, bad genes! I use my Real Techniques Brow Brush with an eyebrow powder to darken my eyebrows & make them a little bit thicker. I love this little brush, I find my eyebrows look more natural and look less drawn on.

After the eyebrows are in place, I use my Real Techniques Contour Brush to apply some blusher (next purchase is a Real Techniques Blush Brush) Blusher is a must when you have been blessed with lovely pale Scottish skin...thanks Dad!

This is just a guide to the brushes I use on a daily bases. Depending on the Day/Occasion, I do use the Pointed Pixel Eye Liner Brush, Accent Brush & the Deluxe Crease Brush if I want to apply Eye Make-Up.
